As a grandson of a Prisoner Of War, Jim Rogers who was captured by the Nazis and wrote a book about his captivity, 'Tunneling into Colditz', i cannot praise these men nor express enough gratitude for the fight these men fought to keep many proud and alive.
The queen will be leading the Country through a two minute silence tomorrow for the 'Passing of a generation'.
Bill Stone died at 108 in January followed by Henry Allingham, 113, and Harry Patch, 111, in July. The silence will be observed around the UK at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month as it marks the moment four years of war ended with the signing of Armistice Treaty by Germany and Allies.
i love the way the country supports and stands together through these memorials.
Henry Allingham
