The Royals/ King George V and KIng Edward Viii

Here is the stamp of King Edward aka Duke Of Windsor, who was more of a 'style' icon than a respected one. He succeeded his father King George V throne. They were being produced before he abdicated the throne to be with Wallis Simpson, a twice divorced American. Hugh Cecil took the photograph that now became a new reproductive technique which allowed stamps to be printed from photographs rather than engravings.
His shocking abdication on 10 December 1936 was a major crisis for the British monarchy.
The government issued orders to destroy all the images.
